WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Veterans Northwest is an exceptional company! The onsite management team has set the standard for onsite project management.  They were vigilant in maintaining the highest level of safety compliance, coordination of sub-contractors, as well as the effortless adjustment to differing site conditions.  I would HIGHLY recommend Veterans NW for future contracts.  Their commitment to customer service and their company’s value to provide the highest quality project makes them an incomparable choice for future projects.

MORE ABOUT EXCELLENCE

SAFETY

At Veterans NW, safety is about preventing workplace accidents, illnesses, and injuries so that everyone on the team makes it home safely at the end of the day.  We work to create a safety culture that involves every level of employee working together to keep our workplaces safe. It involves strict enforcement, but it also requires communication and training.

Our Corporate Safety Plan and Accident Prevention Program, overseen by our Safety Director, has a proven track record of reducing workplace accidents and injuries.

SAFETY

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Safety was always a priority with the contractor.  Outside of standard submittal review and site inspections, little to no involvement  was required by the government related to the contractor’s safety program.

—  Brian Cummings, Government Engineering Technician / Quality Assurance NAVFAC NW

QUALITY

QUALITY

Veterans NW’s quality control program is based on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors training.  This program, developed as a joint effort between the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Associated General Contractors (AGC), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), provides the framework for one of the most stringent and effective quality control systems in the construction industry.

Our Corporate Quality Control Program, overseen by our Quality Control Director, focuses on proactive prevention as the means to eliminating costly rework.  The effectiveness of our program is demonstrated in the consistently high marks we receive from our clients for the delivery of quality product and service.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Veterans Northwest (VNW) entire team for this project had an attention to detail that tended towards fastidiousness in all classes of work including physical work, administrative, customer service/interpersonal, follow up and warranty.

—  TRACI JACKSON,  Veterans Administration Contract Specialist

TIMELINESS

TIMELINESS

Excellence requires completing projects on time.  At Veterans NW, we achieve this through active schedule management.

We utilize Primavera P6 software to generate our Network Analysis Schedules (NAS) and then use the NAS as the primary tool for leading, communicating, and coordinating the many team members and activities that determine timely completion.

Project Managers and Superintendents use the NAS to drive the project.  Project Managers typically author the preconstruction portion of the project NAS – including the design on design-build projects.  Superintendents are the primary author of construction-stage NAS. Our Corporate Scheduler builds and updates the schedules at the direction of the Project Managers and Superintendents.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

NAVFAC NW enjoyed working with VNW on this project. … This medical/dental facility was fully operational and occupied during construction, and VNW coordinated with the customer to allow both parties to perform their required functions, and finish the interior work 3 months ahead of schedule.
